[02:37.09]the heavyweight murder case began when prize fighter Mike Degard keeled over in the ring.

[02:43.32]Investigation showed that the challenger had been doped and poisoned;

[02:47.93]and revealed that Billy Stanely,

[02:49.90]Degard's girlfriend the night club photographer;

[02:51.98]did not want Mike to win.

[02:54.25]Nor did K.O. Colliny the champion or his Manager Silk Morgan.

[02:58.79]Vance, Sergeant Heath and I have found out that Billy Stanely is at her apartment with Mike's manager.”

[03:32.23]“I beg your pardon, I'm district attorney Markum. This is Philo Vance, and Sergeant Heath. We'd like to Miss Billy Stanely.”

[05:03.58]“I do it myself, there's a dark room in the club.”
